When & Where to Pay Your Taxes

Summer taxes are due September 16, 2024, by 5:00 pm in the office at the Sodus Township Hall, INCLUDING Drop Box.

Summer taxes are collected at the Township Hall from July 1, 2024, through September 16, 2024, at 5:00 pm. Beginning September 17, 2024, all tax payments must be made to the Berrien County Treasurer. Penalties and interest will apply.

Mail to: Sodus Township Treasurer, PO Box 176 Sodus, MI 49126 NOTE: Postmarks are not accepted as a payment date. Please allow for mailing time which routes to Grand Rapids, MI and back, (3-5 days).

Drop Box: On-premise at the south entrance door; Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In-person: Payments; check or cash are Fridays only from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm during tax season. NO CREDIT CARDS
PLEASE NOTE

July 1, 2024, through September 16, 2024; Summer tax collection without interest charges.

September 16, 2024; Extended in-person payment hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

September 17, 2024, interest charges will begin automatically being applied.

RECEIPT INFORMATION

If you would like a "PAID" stamp, please send or bring in your entire tax bill when paying your taxes.

If payment is mailed or dropped off, please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope, so a receipt may be mailed to you.
PARTIAL PAYMENTS

You can make partial payments during the collection period. No prior arrangement is needed.

You may pay any amount as often as you like. Balance is due in full by tax due date to avoid penalties.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If an escrow account pays your taxes from your mortgage company, your tax notice will be mailed directly to the mortgage company. You will receive a duplicate copy with an “Information Purposes” message on your stub.

Please contact your mortgage company for its policies and procedures if you receive a regular bill.

For the previous year's delinquent bills: please call the Berrien County Treasurer at 983-7111 ext. 8569 for the payoff amount, including the most current interest and penalties. Remit payment to Berrien County Treasurer, Berrien County Admin. Bldg. 701 Main Street, St. Joseph, MI 49085
